Public Speaking

“You can speak well if your tongue can deliver the message of the heart”

                                                                                                          John Ford

The College has initiated a dedicated Public Speaking learning experience as the benefits of this skill are often under-estimated.  Confidence and self-esteem are lifted with each public speaking opportunity undertaken by our students.

At King’s there is a strong emphasis on developing public speaking and performance skills through the Middle Years program with:
•  Interhouse Debating
•  Interhouse Speaking
•  Eistedfodd Speaking
•  Performance as a core subject for all students

Students in Middle and Senior Years also participate in:
•  Interschool Debating competitions,
•  Interschool Speaking competitions,
•  Rostrum Voice of Youth,
•  Lions Youth of the Year (Year 11/12).

As the College's public speaking experience is integrated from a young age, our students have continually excelled in receiving awards within district Esiteddfod events.  Their sense of achievement is well deserved and the skill of public speaking will be an asset to them as they progress into adult life.
