Outdoor Education and Trips

A structured outdoor education program operates throughout the College and includes the Compass program for Middle Years students and Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme for students in the Senior Years.


Early Years

Kinder and Preschool students participate in a number of school based and excursion type activities during the year.

Junior Years

Prep      Day trip in the Warrnambool vicinity, visiting two locations. (9.30am - 5pm).

Year 1    Day trip beyond Warrnambool. (early start, back by 3.20pm).

Year 2    Day trip to local attractions followed by activities at the College in the evening. (9am - 8pm).

Year 3    2 days/1 night sleep over at school. Visiting locations around Warrnambool and further afield
               (eg. Great Ocean Road).
               Excursion to Camperdown Monastry.

Year 4     2 day/1 night camp to Halls Gap. Explore Halls gap and surrounding areas.
                Excursion to Volcano Discovery Centre.

Middle Years

*Year 5/6  3 day/ 2 night Camp to Ballarat - focus on History and Science OR

                 3 day/ 2 night Study Tour to Melbourne - focus on Culture and Civics

Year 7    4 day/ 3 night camp to Cooriemungle - adventure camp with a focus on meeting challenges.

Year 8    5 day / 4night Study Tour to Canberra - focus on History and Culture.
               2 day / 1 night (x2) Exchange program with Heathdale Christian College.


Senior Years

Year 9       King’s Connect program including;
                  • 7 day expedition,
                  • 6 day community tour,
                  • 2 days/1 night City Experience in Melbourne.

Year 10     3 day/2 night team building camp at Camp Sunnystones via Bachus Marsh.

Year 11     3 day/2 night leadership Camp 'Burnside' at Anglesea.

Year 12     2 day/1 night trip to Melbourne for a leadership conference and a university familiarisation program.


*Yr5/6 currently go on camp/study tour together and alternate one year to Ballarat, the other to Melbourne
